Format guide · sources checked 24 October 2026
XBRL is a format. The filing requirements depend on the country.
A Kuwait XBRL data file is not automatically a U.S. SEC filing, UK tax attachment or Saudi financial statement submission. Start with the company’s regulator, reporting period and accepted taxonomy—not the country you happen to be working from.
XBRL and Inline XBRL: what changes?
XBRL represents business facts using concepts from a taxonomy, with information such as reporting periods, units and entity identifiers. Inline XBRL, or iXBRL, embeds tagged facts in a human-readable report. A PDF, an XML data file and an Inline XBRL report serve different purposes; changing a filename does not convert between them.
The SEC explains that Inline XBRL combines human-readable and machine-readable information in a single document. Read the SEC explanation.
Kuwait: our current preparation scope
XBRL Kuwait currently prepares an income statement, financial position and preparation notes in an Arabic PDF, plus XBRL data referencing IFRS 2025. It is not a complete financial statement package, an audit opinion or a filing service. Qayd acceptance is unverified; an accountant must check the company’s requirements before purchase or filing.
If you work from another country but the company is Kuwaiti, the overseas preparation guide explains the English form, KWD inputs and current output. Inspect the fictional sample before starting.
United States: SEC reporting uses Inline XBRL
The SEC adopted Inline XBRL requirements for operating-company financial information and certain other regulated disclosures. The relevant reporting form, accounting basis, taxonomy and EDGAR validation requirements determine the work needed. This is not a general XBRL requirement for every small U.S. business.
Our current Kuwait generator does not produce an SEC filing package. A U.S. offer would need a separate tagging and validation workflow before it could be sold as SEC-ready.

Canada: do not assume SEDAR+ accepts XBRL
The current SEDAR+ continuous disclosure FAQ states that SEDAR+ does not accept filings in XBRL format. Older references to a Canadian voluntary XBRL program should not be treated as evidence that the current portal accepts these files.
We do not offer a Canadian SEDAR+ XBRL filing product. A Canadian customer working on a Kuwait company has a different use case from a Canadian issuer making a Canadian filing.

Saudi Arabia: Qawaem has its own filing workflow
The Saudi Business Center publishes a Qawaem program guide covering financial-statement filing phases, requirements and Excel preparation. A Kuwait-oriented IFRS data export does not establish compatibility with that workflow.
Our tool does not currently produce a Saudi Qawaem filing package. A Saudi accounting office may use the current service for a Kuwait company after checking scope, but should not use its output as a promised Saudi submission.

United Arab Emirates: distinguish listed-company reporting
The UAE Financial Statement Disclosure platform describes itself as an XBRL e-filing platform for listed companies. That does not mean every UAE business needs the same filing, or that a generic XML file is accepted.
Our current output is not a UAE FSD filing package. Establish the relevant authority, company category, reporting period and required template before choosing a conversion service.

United Kingdom: iXBRL accounts and tax computations
HMRC says most companies and organisations must provide accounts forming part of an online Company Tax Return in iXBRL, with exceptions. Its developer guidance sets out specifications for accounts and computations.
Our Arabic PDF and current XBRL data export do not provide an HMRC accounts-and-computations package. A UK product would require its own supported accounting scope, taxonomies and validation.

Four checks before paying for any XBRL service
- Identify the company’s filing authority and the exact report or return.
- Confirm the accounting basis, reporting year and accepted taxonomy version.
- Check the full deliverable: statements, notes, tagging, attachments and validation results.
- Agree who reviews, approves and submits the report, and what correction support is included.
This is a format comparison, not confirmation that a particular company must file or that a file will be accepted. Requirements and portal support can change; use the linked official guidance and your accountant for the specific filing.
